Instead of recreating the wheel (adding Zotero note taking fucntionality), I'd like to see integration with the existing notes/documents applications out there. The main issue is that the Zotero notes functionality is awesome, but limiting. Ideally Zotero could scan these documents, but I'd be okay with searching these documents in Evernote or Google Drive. Clicking new Google doc or Evernote note, opens a new browser tab with a new Google doc or Evernote note open. There is an option to attach a new Google doc and Evernote note.ģ. I right click an item in my zotero library.Ģ. In Zotero, the Google doc / Evernote note appears in the list under the item (like an existing Zotero note or attached PDF).ġ. When I click the Zotero icon, I can select a Zotero item that I allows me to associate the Google doc / Evernote note with the Zotero item.Ĥ. When I have a document open in or, there is a Zotero icon in my browser.ģ.
DEVONTHINK TO GO SYNC DIRECT FULL
I write notes in Google Drive or Evernote (or import a document from a pen/paper digitizing software into Google Drive or Evernote).Ģ. I just did a full sync of that medium size database to my iPad and it took just under 16 minutes total to get it onto my iPad. As I create a note document in Evernote or Google Drive, I can associate this document with a Zotero item.ġ. To sync DEVONthink To Go with DEVONthink after the first time, you tap the home icon, then tap the sync icon, then tap your computer.

DEVONTHINK TO GO SYNC DIRECT CODE
I find the searching and 'related items' in devonthink to be really helpful tracking down notes or code I've saved in the past. Syncing Feelings Of the many techniques an app could use to get documents from a Mac onto an iOS device, Wi-Fi sync is one of the more convenient onesbut DEVONthink To Go does it in a less-than-ideal way. This video shows the user using the plugin and AppleScript to open notes back and forth from Obsidian and DEVONthink. I have their iOS app on my phone for referencing and on-the-go additions that usually just go to the inbox which I sort through periodically.

I propose a workflow something like this. If you keep your Obsidian notes indexed in DEVONthink, I have just released a new plugin that allows you to open those notes directly from Obsidian, and a companion AppleScript that lets you open your Obsidian notes from within DEVONthink 3. I have no way of easily adding this document to Zotero (to make it searchable/keep all my research in one place). I digitize my notes with any number of software solutions (Evernote, Google Drive, LiveScribe Pens).Ħ. As I read the book, my notes are not searchable.Ĥ. Adding links to Zotero items from other software is not what I had in mind, nor does it solve the issues I'm thinking of.ģ. You're right, I think a use case is in order.
